What's the Most Massive Object in the Universe? The most massive stars can clock in at enormous weights; the biggest, captured in this image from the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope, are about 256 times the mass of the sun and are located in RMC 136a, a stellar nursery located inside the Tarantula Nebula, in one of our neighboring galaxies, the Large Magellanic Cloud, 165 000 light-years away.
